Night Nav GPS Marathon
Avon Valley Footpath. 22nd January.
Introduction:
This is an exciting nighttime point-to-point marathon run suited for those who enjoy an adventure.
Starting at 18:00 - 19:00 you have until 02:00 to make it to the finish point. Using the supplied GPX file, runners will navigate along the Avon Valley footpath during the night.
Finishers will be awarded a bespoke wooden medal.
Self-supported, self-navigated, and self-reliant.
Course:
The route is on public rights of way which are predominantly on tracks and footpaths following the Avon Valley Path. There are some short road sections and crossings. Due to the nature of the course following the Avon Valley and the proximity of the river Avon a few short sections of the route are boggy and wet underfoot.
Navigation:
This is a self-navigation night run. Participants are to use the supplied GPX file with their own suitable electronic means of navigation. A GPS watch or similar device with navigation is highly recommended.
