The Atlantic Coast Challenge

Atlantic Coast Path - 3rd, 4th and 5th October 2025

Introduction:

Now in its 20th year the more windswept and, some might say, interesting younger sibling of the Jurassic Coast Challenge. The route starts near Padstow and finishes at Lands End. Complete up to 78.6 miles (3 marathons) over 3 days by walking, running or crawling, putting your mental and physical prowess against some of the wildest coastlines in Britain.

Dare to complete 1, 2 or 3 days. Every Atlantic Coast Challenge starter receives an event T-shirt and every finisher receives a classic challenge medal and a Cornish Pasty.

Organised by Epic Endurance Events CIC. The event team will take care of everything at the event for you so all you need to concentrate on is completing the distance each day.

Terrain:

Wild and rugged. Steep climbs and descents that test your concentration as well as your strength. Each day is unique with its own individual challenges and famous landmarks to add to the experience.

The course follows the South West Coast Path which is marked by the Acorn sign. It's a very obvious well-worn route. The emphasis is on self-navigation. In most cases, it's as easy as keeping the sea on your right and the land on your left.

Event HQ:

Located at the St Ives Bay Holiday Park TR27 5BH, the event HQ is situated in the large conservatory next to the bar and the Bay View cafe.

Catering will be available at the HQ.

Accommodation keys to be collected from the parks reception.

Transportation:

Each day you will be instructed to meet at the event HQ and then be transported to the start. On the event you can leave your car at the event HQ and take advantage of the events mini busses. On completion of the days run you will be transported back to the event HQ.

Checkpoints (CPs):

These are located approximately every 10KM. At each CP you will be ‘checked’ in by the CP staff and your time logged. This means we know where you are on the course and if you are late for a checkpoint we can assist you.

All the CPs will be stocked with bars, jelly babies, salty snacks, filled rolls, water, squash, coke, and hot drinks (at CP 2 and 3). At the finish point on day 1 and day 2, a bowl of hot homemade soup and bread roll will await you. At the finish on day 3 the soup is replaced with a Cornish pasty.

Onsite Catering:

Event catering at the Bay View Cafe (next to the registration area).

Meals start on Thursday evening and finish on Sunday evening.

Teams:

For those that wish to enter as a team, you may do so by emailing events@epicendurance.co.uk There is an additional charge for teams as it incurs additional admin, medals & t-shirts per person. Teams may use the start and finish transportation but if you wish to meet at a checkpoint and swap over you will be responsible for getting yourself to and from the checkpoints. Teams must also at registration make sure that the HQ has everyone's mobile number and emergency details. The booking will be under the group leader who will be responsible for organising the whole group.
