The current advice from Bournemouth Council is that no events are allowed until possibly early September.
We will attempt to hold an event on Saturday 19th September 2020 (Pending permissions and in accordance with any government guidelines).
As per the terms and conditions of entry, all current entrants are automatically transferred to this date.
If you have not made an entry and would like to join the new event date waiting / email list then please click on the below button. We are also looking at the possibility of using GPS trackers and swim floats to hold a 'virtual swim'. Let us know if you wish to be kept up to date on this idea.
Please email email@example.com with any queries.

The Overstrand, Boscombe, BH5 1BN - View Location
In its 7th year, the 2020 event will be held at Boscombe beach and is a real must for anyone looking for a slightly more challenging open water swim. This is a series of 3 Long Swim events over the summer season. The Salty Sea Dog Swims will take place near the Urban Reef – a funky and informal bar, café, deli and restaurant, serving fresh, seasonal and local food and drink.
Although Boscombe is well sheltered there may be a possibility of some surf conditions. Advice from the water safety team will be sought and if necessary the swim may be postponed. Any decision will be made with the swimmers best interest in mind. Any change of plan will be communicated via this web page and via email to all entered participants.
Pre-event information pack:

We do not post out information other than via e-mail.

Spectators can get a great view of the action either from the beach or from up on the cliff top. The Urban Reef Beach cafe has an excellent all-weather viewing area of the beach and swim course. Perfect for spectators and armchair sports enthusiasts!
Both Long Swims will be beach starts between the start flags. The course will be marked by large inflatable marker buoys and a large course map will clearly indicate each course. The course layout is subject to change due to weather conditions. The course takes swimmers approx 400 meters from the shoreline and gives a great view of the coast.
As part of the entry system to the event all participants agree to the following:
Cut off times:
Swimmers over these times will be collected from the water and returned to shore.
If you would like a high-quality finishers medal then please select 'yes' when entering online.
Your medal will be issued to you just after the finish line.
Votwo is aware that some people want medals and some people don't. We do not want to needlessly produce items that go to waste, hence we have devised this order form. In previous years we have issued free medals to all finishers but the world is changing and we are trying to minimise our environmental impact.
We will have limited spare medals on the day if wish to purchase at the event.
Refunds / transfers:
Please ensure you read and agree to the Votwo events terms and conditions when you enter the event. In brief, the refund policy is as follows:
Any event entry cancellation received by email to firstname.lastname@example.org more than 14 days prior to the event date will receive a 50% refund or transfer of entry fee towards another votwo event (£5 transfer fee applies).
Only emailed cancellations are acceptable. Cancellations made in the 14 days prior to the event start date will not be eligible for any refund or transfer.
