New for 2020! This is a premium ultra-distance foot race over 64km or 100km. The HQ area and finish is at the ever-trendy village of Rock nr Padstow on the North Coast of Cornwall. The route follows the South West Coast path and this section of the coast path can only be described as epic. Complete the distance by walking, running or crawling, pitting your mental and physical prowess against some of the most scenic coastline in Britain. Votwo has teamed up with Geo Tracks. This system provides runners with a personal GPS tracker and navigation mobile phone app allowing them to accurately navigate the course and receive real-time positions of the other participants and themselves.

A link to the 2020 North Coast Ultra event information will be posted below this text nearer the event date. All entrants are reminded to read the event information. It is a condition of entry to this event that you participate according to the instructions in the event information. We do not send any event information or confirmations by post.
The primary means of navigation on the North Coast Ultra is with the Geo Tracks system. Each participant is issued with a GPS tracker which when used in combination with a smartphone app provides a highly accurate navigation tool.
Visit the Geo Tracks website here for more information. Don't forget its a good idea to download the app before the event starts! The event ID number is 235 for the 100km and 237 for the 65km.
Wild and rugged. Steep climbs and descents that test your concentration as well as your strength. The course follows the South West Coast path which is marked by the Acorn sign. It's a very obvious well-worn route. The emphasis is on self-navigation. In most cases, it's as easy as keeping the sea on your right and the land on your left.

The event HQ is based in Rock (PL27 6LQ) and will act as a meeting point, registration and finish area. This will be open throughout the whole event to answer any questions etc. The 'Hut Behind the Hedge' is providing great catering at competitive prices throughout the day.
These are located approximately every 10KM. At each CP you will be ‘checked’ in by the CP staff and your time logged. This means we know where you are on the course and if you are late for a checkpoint we can assist you.
All the CPs will be stocked with energy bars, jelly babies, salty snacks, filled rolls, water, squash, coke, and hot drinks. At the finish point, a bowl of hot homemade soup and a bread roll will await you. CP locations are marked on your Geo Tracks mapping app and CP close times will be issued to you along with your actions on the emergency card. The event medics will be available at the CP's.
A minimum speed of 5km per hour needs to be maintained. Checkpoint cut off times will be published in the event information pack. 20 hours in total to complete the 100km and 13 hours for the 64km. Any late runners will be retired from the event and picked up by the DNF bus.
On completion of the event briefing held at the HQ you will be transported to the start by minibus. This takes approx 40 mins.
The route is covered by our medical support. Please use the supplied phone numbers on your actions on sheet or report at a checkpoint.
Checkpoint food and drinks supplied by Sticky Fingers Outdoor Caters. 1st class provisions to keep you going. All homemade, hot pasta bake, sausage rolls, pizzas, soup etc. Full catering list supplied in the pre-information pack when published. Option to request special dietary needs within the pack.
Whilst taking part in the event it is compulsory for you to carry the following equipment. At registration, you will be asked to prove you have certain pieces of kit on the list. If you don’t have this kit you will not be allowed to participate in the event. We will be enforcing the policy of no kit, no run. If the worst happens to you any of the below kit could really make the difference to yours and other's survival and wellbeing.

You must carry all the kit on the kit list. No exceptions. It may be on your person or rucksack. No kit = No run.
